Dreams vs. Reality and UFO's

After posting a comment to Mike Clelland's blog, Hidden Experience - a story he wrote about a dream experience he had - he suggested I write more about the strange dream adventure I was alluding to.

Some years ago I had one of those very realistic dreams that happen every so often. I am sure we all get them from time to time. Mine are often related to UFO's.  In this case I found myself standing in a modern office building, peering through the window across Halifax Harbour at night. From my point-of-view I could easily discern two bright lens shaped objects which could only be described as UFO's, as they glided around at low level. I remember having that familiar uneasy feeling that I was being watched by the objects. Almost like the were there just for my own benefit. The dream was crystal clear and in full colour. Then, suddenly, the dream ended. It was easy for me to to remember because it had such an effect on my emotions - a combination of fear, dread, and fascination.

It was also strange to me because I couldn't for the life of me figure out which building I was standing in during the dream. Then about a year ago I started teaching film studies at the Centre for Arts and Technology here in Halifax. A couple of weeks ago I found myself standing in the cafeteria as the sun was setting. I realised with a start that this was the very spot that I stood in the dream. The view was the same, save for the UFO's. My only thought was, "Now What?" It seems pretty silly for me to think that I will see UFO's from this location anytime soon, but I can't help wonder about the significance of the dream. I suppose only time will tell.

That was a really neat story. I have to wonder if you had looked out the windows what you might have seen. It sounded partly premonition and partly remote viewing. I have these dreams where I travel to other countries and visit with people and then when I wake I feel exhausted, sometimes even speaking a foreign language. A few weeks ago I had one and it was a blog follower in Greece that I visited it. I asked her if she had a weird dream recently and she mentioned she dreamed about me. Our visit with each other exactly lined up to the details. It was very shocking. What we can do in dreams is still a murky territory. Who's to say that while our bodies rest for 8 hours, our souls don't travel around? I guess the curious question now is, do you go there again and look out the windows? Try to recreate it?

Thanks for your comment. Well considering I teach there weekly I suppose I will stand at the window and have a look see. If the dream was a premonition I cannot help but think it had more to do with my working there than the presence of a UFO. Makes me wonder what part 'the visitors' might play in our lives if, indeed, they actually exist.

Michael,

This stuff is SO strange. Whatever is going on "behind the curtain" is can play itself out in the most unusual ways.

I have a similar story.

I had a dream in elementary school, I remember talking about it on the playground at my elementary school, I must have been about 10 or so. The dream wasn't much, I was in a creepy general store at night, and there was a spooky vibe, I got scared and walked out into the street and stood under the street light and I felt really lonely and REALLY scared.

That's it.

Bu the dream was vivid, and it's stuck with me to this day, 37 years later.

Jump forward to about 1993, when I move out west to idaho. There is a very tiny town near-by (Teton Idaho) and the first time I drove thru at night, I declared; "This is that street!" I feel convinced that this is the location of that dream!

And then, in 2002, a crop circle appears about a mile away from that main street!

The crop circle has a few nutty synchronicities, and this link will fill you in:

peace to you.

One of the most important part of dreams is how we feel about what we're dreaming, and that's especially interesting in UFO dreams. Your mix of fear to fascination seems to suggest curiosity, but uncertainty, probably a good combination when exploring the realm of the unknown.

I've had several dreams over the years of a huge UFO, the size of a small town, hovering high overhead, nearly filling the sky. I always feel energized and elevated, almost like an hallucinogenic high.

Now that I've been watching 'V' with its huge UFO overhead, I was thinking that maybe I'm a gullible in my UFO dreams as that teen kid who seems blinded to the dark side of the good-looking aliens. - Rob

It is true, I do know I didn't want the dream to end. I wanted to see what happens next.
