Entity Attacks, Billy Bob Thornton, and Famous Monster

I am intrigued by the uncanny similarities between PostReason's Kartott experiences and some of my own so I want to post her story below, followed up by a link to an earlier posting in my Paranormal Musings blog relating to Sleep Paralysis and entity attacks. I do hate recycling my own material, but I like to keep my blog fresh, and today I have been busy working on promoting one of my films that is in distribution, Famous Monster: Forrest J Ackerman. No doubt many of you have heard about the weird Joaquin'esqe interview on CBC's 'The Q' featuring Billy Bob Thornton and his ModBilly band, BoxMasters. Thornton's strangest answer to the simple music-related inquiries of the interviewer referred to Forrest J Ackerman and his Famous Monsters of Filmland publication. (Here is a link to the material on my Famous Monster blog.) Well I just could not let the day go by without trying to move some of the hundreds of thousands of eyeballs in the form of Youtube hits on this wacky interview over to my Youtube Channel for the promotion of Famous Monster.

I think there's a word for producers like me ...

Anyhow, I digress. Here is Kartott's most interesting story.

Opening

When I was about 33, while in deep meditation with my yoga group, I sensed an entity behind me. I had previously sensed them in meditation before, so this was not alarming. I typically felt their presence as comforting and supportive. However, the entity this night was different. It was stronger, it presented a more distinct identity than usual. I next felt the entity behind me place its hands on my shoulders. At that instant of touch, I felt a rush of intense /light/ (as in radiant) energy course down through the crown of my head immediately followed by my body being "thrown" from a traditional sitting posture onto the floor. To other members in my group, it probably appeared I was having some kind of seizure as my body was shaking violently. This settled down after a few minutes but from my perspective here is what I felt: after the initial rush of energy, after my body was effectively being controlled by it, I experienced a second "cold" energy come into play, moving from the ends of my limbs (starting with toes and fingers) toward my body core. This is difficult to explain...the cold energy continued to move up my limbs and the closer it got the more I became scared. Prior to this I in a state of a sort of detached observation - but at this point, it was different. I felt that if that cold energy reached my heart I might die or something, yet I was helpless to do anything about it. Oddly, almost as soon as I had this thought / fear, someone in the group literally grabbed me into a bear hug. This stopped it. I was rather stunned - it was as if a switch had been thrown. In the years that followed, I seemed to have an altered -- more activated -- sense of other phenomena, dreams, visions.
And here is the link to my Entity Attack experience. Or perhaps it was simple Sleep Paralysis? Personally I don't think so.

(Thanks to Mike Clelland for the notion. If you like this sort of stuff, Mike's Blog is a Must Read, as is Autumn Forest's Ghost hunting Theories - any relation to Forrest J?)

I just watched the Thornton interview. My hat is off to the DJ who so givingly put up with that insufferable weirdo.

Unbelievable interview, nutcase! I notice that you have posted words from Kartott's blog before, they are intruging, so thanks for that. I will check out the blog along with Mike's blog. I have to agree about Autumnforest's blog, she has an amazing way of seeing things and putting them into words. I love reading her posts.

Michael, I read this post and your sleep paralysis post as well. I'm glad you posted your older link in here because I saw that page a while back, meant to come back in to read it and forgot.

A correlation I recognized immediately in Kartott's experience is the 'state' that Kartott was in when the event took place.

Theta brain wave activity is what is present during REM sleep and Theta brain wave activity is also notorious for increasing in many parts of the brain during and especially after Yoga.

So the key here in that case appears to be theta waves.

As far as "something so sinister", nobody would really know, but it's certainly possible. Why it 'may not' be sinister is because it started out okay and then appeared to go south when fear was instilled. That kind of fear sets off a chain reaction of four chemicals. At that point, anything goes.

I like theta, theta waves - ignore the fractals they are my friend and I listen to them while I work in my blogs. It's very calming.

I have a lot I could offer here but I’m afraid it’s a bit much for a comments area.

But if you want, and in an easy to understand explanation, I can delve into the corollary discharge that takes place during REM sleep while awake (sleep paralysis), the actual events within the limbic system, sympathetic nervous system, amygdale, hypothalamus, and the whys and wherefores of the chemicals to follow the initial adrenaline dose, which are dopamine, norepinephrine, epinephrine and endorphins. My explanation for the incubus, succubus, and literal possession are all in there as well. All are and can be involved.

Sleep paralysis goes both ways, a real disorder and it can be induced by another.

I have a saying that goes, “If medical science has a name for it, some of our dead and of course aliens can mimic it”. And they do.

Let me know if you want the whole nine yards.

Here is a link to a really strange audio interview with two film-makers:

http://binnallofamerica.com/boaa3.23.9.html

The film (and interview) is focused on the psychic attack that takes place in sleep paralysis and the weird super-natural and mythic side of these events. It goes way beyond a dry clinical explanation.

Really fascinating stuff. Highly recommended.

Absolutely, definitely catch that BoA episode and Michael - I have a commitment with my daughter this morning at Borders but as soon as we're back I'll post that comment.
